About cookies

Why we store anything

omelee keeps a small amount of data on your device so the app remembers you and your choices when you come back. It stays on this device, and is not used for other purposes.

What we store

One cookie, plus a few things in your browser's local storage:

  • omelee_prefs (cookie) — the sports you've chosen and that you've acknowledged the cookie banner.
  • Signed in — if you have an account, a login token so you don't have to sign in on every visit.
  • Theme — your light/dark theme and colour palette.
  • Map position — where you last had the map centred, so it opens on the same area next time.
  • Onboarding progress — which intro steps you've already seen, so the app doesn't show them again.

The token that keeps you signed in is sent to our own servers to log you in — nothing else here is sent anywhere. Temporary per-tab choices (like hiding a sport for one visit) live in session storage and disappear when you close the tab.

No tracking

There are no advertising or third-party cookies, and no cross-site trackers. Any analytics we use is privacy-friendly and cookie-less — it counts visits in aggregate and sets nothing on your device; see the privacy policy for details. If you turn functional cookies off — or your browser blocks them — your preferences apply for the current session only and are not saved. The omelee_prefs cookie lasts up to a year and is removed when you turn functional cookies off.
