This policy explains what personal data omelee (https://omelee.com) processes and why. We keep it minimal: enough to log you in and run the service, nothing for advertising.

Who is responsible

The data controller for this site is:

What we collect

  • Account & login. Your email address, so we can send one-time login codes and identify your account. We use passwordless login — we never store a password. Legal basis: performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Profile & activity. What you create in the app — your display name, the events you publish or join, facilities you contribute. Visible to other users as needed for the service. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b).
  • Server logs. Standard technical logs (IP address, request time, user agent), kept briefly to operate and secure the service. Legal basis: legitimate interest in a secure, working service (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Map tiles. Map images are fetched through our own proxy, so the upstream map source does not receive your IP directly — our server does, as part of serving the map.
  • Error tracking (when enabled). If diagnostics are on, technical error reports (which may include your IP and the page involved) are sent to our error-tracking provider to help us fix bugs. No advertising profiles are built. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f).
  • Analytics (when enabled). We may use privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics that count visits in aggregate. It sets no cookies and builds no individual profiles. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f).

For cookies specifically, see the cookie notice.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers that process data on our behalf:

  • Hosting — our server provider, which stores the database and serves the site.
  • Email delivery — a transactional email provider that sends your login codes.
  • Error tracking & analytics — the diagnostics/analytics providers named above, only when those features are enabled.

Some providers may process data outside the EU; where they do, this happens under the safeguards required by GDPR (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

How long we keep it

Account and profile data is kept for as long as you have an account. Server logs and error reports are kept only short-term. Delete your account and we remove your personal data, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

  • access the data we hold about you (Art. 15);
  • correct it (Art. 16) or delete it (Art. 17);
  • restrict or object to processing (Art. 18, 21);
  • receive your data in a portable form (Art. 20).

You also have the right to complain to a data-protection supervisory authority.
